Мера возрастания или убывания в пространстве какой-либо физической величины на единицу длины. Градиенты pH, концентрации или плотности используются при центрифугировании, хроматографическом разделении, электрофорезе и в других лабораторных процедурах.
Условие, обеспечиваемое раствором, в котором соотношение растворителя к растворенному веществу изменяется от одной зоны к другой.
Условие, обеспечиваемое раствором или смесью растворов солей, сахаров или полимеров, подготовленных таким образом, что концентрация, а следовательно, и плотность раствора изменяются непрерывно или периодически. Градиент плотности используется для отделения компонентов различной плотности при центрифугировании.
Производная скорости жидкого элемента относительно координаты пространства.
